Gas‑exchange VO2max testing, designed for the track, the court or the clinic.
For sports-science labs, longevity clinics and coaching teams who want measured VO₂max and thresholds outside the lab, and proof against their own cart first.1

Three teams. One method.
Take the lab to the sport.
Test on the track, the court or the rowing boat, in the movement the athlete actually does. Pressure is designed to be measured and corrected; outdoor extremes and altitude are not yet tested. Raw data is designed to be exportable for your own analysis. How to evaluate a portable metabolic analyzer.
Apply as a labMeasure fitness at every visit.
A mask, a tablet and a bike or treadmill. Track measured VO₂max over time instead of a formula, with a report clients can read. Use it as a fitness and training assessment, as clinics do with VO₂max today. It is not a diagnostic or clinical CPET system, so keep your existing medical screening before maximal tests.4 VO₂max and longevity: the evidence. Where clients can get tested today: VO₂max testing in India.
Apply as a clinicZones from breath, not formulas.
Set training intensities from measured VT1 and VT2, retest after each block, and see whether the work moved the numbers. One unit is designed to serve a whole squad, with every athlete’s tests in one place.

Designed so that no dedicated lab is needed.
A safety check, a room-air reference and a zero-flow check before each test (seal check planned), then into the protocol. Wireless, so the athlete or client moves freely. The current flow element covers ventilation up to about 85–100 L/min; maximal tests in trained athletes need the high-flow element now in development.
Known limitationsShort set‑up, a full queue.
A queue of tests, a fit kit per person and reports ready as each test ends. Designed to fit into the workflow you already run.
A report clients can read, the same day.
VO₂max, thresholds and zones in plain English, with the raw breaths behind it for your team. Concept layout with example data and fictional names; any comparison with published norms is planned, not built.2
What you get, and what we ask.
Terms are agreed with each partner before any unit ships. This is what we expect them to cover. Priority goes to labs and clinics that run a laboratory metabolic cart, so tests can run side by side on the same people.
You get
- Engineering units and a mask fit kitBefore anyone else, once prototypes exist
- Direct engineering supportAccess to the team during your tests
- Raw data from every sessionBreath table and raw signals
- Co-design of the protocolAnd of the acceptance limits, before they are registered
- The right to publishYour site’s results, whatever they show, under the data agreement
- Authorship by contributionFollowing ICMJE criteria, agreed in writing before testing
- Ethics paperwork, readyProtocol, consent and participant-information templates for your committee
- An honest time estimateStaff time per participant, before you commit
- Post-pilot termsOffered to every partner on the same basis
We ask
- Side-by-side testingVenTracer and your reference system, same people
- A set of sessions over a few monthsNumbers set in the study protocol and agreed with you
- A data agreementConsent, ownership, de-identification and publication
- Honest feedbackFit, workflow and anything in the way
Every athlete’s trend, in one view.
Matched retests, threshold shifts and notes per athlete, so a training block can be judged on measured change. Concept workspace with example data and fictional names.2

Does the pilot cost anything?
We’ll agree this with each partner, in writing, before any unit ships. That includes who covers shipping, import duties and damage or loss of a unit. Pricing for VenTracer itself hasn’t been announced.
How much time and how many staff does it take?
The number of participants, sessions per participant and time per session will be set in the study protocol and agreed with you before you commit. Sessions that compare two systems usually take longer than a single test. Applying doesn’t commit you to anything.
Who owns the data collected at our site?
We’ll agree this with each partner, in writing, before any unit ships. A written data agreement will cover ownership, where data is stored during the pilot, de-identification, and your right to publish. Raw breath-by-breath data from every session is designed to be exportable to you.
What about ethics approval, consent and insurance?
Every participant will give informed consent. The study protocol, ethics approval (with your ethics committee where one applies) and insurance arrangements will be agreed with each partner before any testing starts. Your existing exercise-testing screening and supervision apply to every test.4
What happens after the pilot?
Post-pilot terms are part of the partnership agreement and will be offered to every partner on the same basis.
Who gets priority?
Labs and clinics that run a laboratory metabolic cart, so tests can run side by side on the same people. Labs and longevity clinics both qualify.
Will pilot units be accurate?
That’s what the pilot is for. Treat readings from early units as experimental until validation results are published.3
Can we use our own analysis software?
Yes. Raw breath-by-breath data is designed to be exportable with time, volumes, gas fractions, end-tidal gases and derived values.
Is VenTracer a medical device?
No. It is a fitness and performance tool and is not intended for diagnosis or clinical CPET.4
Test the first units beside your own cart.
We’re looking for a small number of labs and clinics to test early units against their own reference equipment.
